Inspiron 24 5475 SLOW

​My All-In-One Inspiron 24 5475 is so slow as to be essentially unusable. I contacted Dell "Chat" about it. Chat determined that there are no "hardware" issues. Chat said that if I needed further help, I would have to pay for it. My warranty is effective through mid-October, 2020. Can anyone here give me some guidance in/to resolving this very SLOW issue? ​

Either a virus has infected the system, the hard drive is giving you problems, or a program is running in the background which is slowing down the system. I would also suggest that you reboot the system and at the Dell splash screen start tapping F12. Click on diagnostics and let full diagnostics run on the system. Pay attention to the hard drive and memory results.

What does "no joy" mean? Diagnostics wouldn't run or didn't find any problems? You scanned for malware (how?) and didn't find any? Or...?

And always include version of Windows in your posts. What happens if you boot in Safe Mode? And how much RAM (memory) is in this PC?
